Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Bernard and Baker Streets
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 22, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Bernard Street and Baker Street in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the collision occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the accident at about 9:15 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Bernard and Baker streets.
Victim Hit by Vehicle Near Park
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Jefferson Park. They found the victim lying on the road as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Bernard and Baker streets to shut down following the crash. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian collision.
