
Bakersfield pedestrian Niles Mt. Vernon
Pedestrian Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Niles Street and Mt Vernon Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 3, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after an accident at Niles Street and Mt Vernon Avenue in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the incident early Thursday. According to their dispatch team, officers reported the crash at about 2:18 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Niles Street and Mt Vernon Avenue.
Victim Hit by Vehicle Near High School
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the East Bakersfield High School. They found the victim hurt on the side of the roadway as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped after hitting the victim. Officers forced the area of Niles and Mt Vernon to close following the accident.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian collision.
