Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Panama Lane and Salinas Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 22, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Panama Lane and Salinas Street in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred late Thursday night. Officers reported the incident at about 11:44 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city of Bakersfield. The driver hit the person at the intersection of East Panama Lane and Salinas Street.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just west of Fairfax Road. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Panama Lane and Salinas Street to shut down following the collision. They also did not mention if the motorist involved stopped after hitting the person.
The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
