Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash on South Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on South Union Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:21 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The driver hit the person at 1219 South Union Avenue near Amador Avenue.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Bakersfield Lodge. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced a stretch of South Union Avenue to close for a time following the crash.
The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
