Woman, Child Badly Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run at Chester Avenue and 10th Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 2, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash badly injured a woman and a child at Chester Avenue and 10th Street in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the incident on June 1 at around 10 a.m.
Bakersfield police said a vehicle struck the woman and a 3-year-old boy for an unknown reason. The driver hit the pedestrians at the intersection of Chester Avenue and 10th Street.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found both the adult and toddler victims left wounded as a result of the collision.
Pedestrians Hit by Car in Bakersfield
Medical personnel soon took the patients to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Their names and condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrians and fled the area. They described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a hat.
Officials classified the car involved as a gray or blue, 2000’s model Honda 4-door. The collision forced the intersection of Chester Avenue and 10th Street to shut down for a time.
