Woman, 29, Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash on Wible Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 17, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Wible Road in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Monday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 6:50 a.m.

According to CHP, a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit her at 1030 Wible Road in Bakersfield.

Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle Near Econo Lodge

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Econo Lodge Bakersfield Fairgrounds. They found the 29-year-old woman left wounded as a result of the collision.

She sustained leg and/or ankle injury due to the impact of the crash. Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient at the site.

Officials did not disclose the name of the victim and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled the area.

Officers forced Wible Road near Wood lane to close following the accident. Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The cause of the Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
