BAKERSFIELD, California (December 27, 2014) — A pedestrian in a wheelchair was injured in a car accident Saturday night on Madison Street at East Casa Loma Drive, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a silver 2012 Chevrolet Malibu struck the person in a wheelchair at the intersection who was thrown out of the chair and onto the ground. The injured person was having difficulty breathing and paramedics responded to assist them. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Kern County Medical Center
Police are heading up an investigation into this accident to determine liability.
