BAKERSFIELD, California (August 3, 2015) — A pickup and a big rig truck collided Monday morning in a crash at 4734 David Road, just east of Wheeler Ridge Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported about 9:17 a.m. this morning. Paramedics responded and treated at least one person who suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The truck was a heavy-duty tractor pulling two trailers and the report said it leaked about 200 gallons of diesel into a dirt ditch and the roadway. The Environmental Health Agency stated this is a Hazmat situation and needs to be cleaned up.
Police closed down David Road between the 184 and Edison to allow workers to clean up debris.
