Teenager Hospitalized After Collision at Ming Avenue and Buena Vista Road
Bakersfield, CA (May 14, 2022) – A 17-year-old driver suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of Ming Avenue and Buena Vista Road.
Auto vs. Patrol Vehicle Accident in Bakersfield
The ABC23 News reported the teenager was driving a white sedan traveling in the streets of Bakersfield Thursday morning. When the motorist approached the intersection at Ming and Buena Vista, it collided with a Bakersfield Police Department patrol vehicle.
Shortly after 8:20 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics checked the conditions of both the occupants in the white sedan and the police cruiser. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the 17-year-old civilian driver sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance transported the patient to the hospital for further treatment.
Officials added one officer received medical aid at the scene for minor injuries, the Bakersfield.com reported.
Investigators mentioned the collision took place when the Bakersfield Police Department officer drove against a red light. According to the article published online, the deputy was responding with his lights and siren activated when it crashed into the white sedan.
