1 Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 58 at Chester
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 2, 2023) – At least one was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 58 and Chester Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on March 2 at around 3:46 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. At least three semi-trucks and other cars crashed on westbound Highway 58 at Chester Avenue.
Semi-Trucks and Cars Collide
One vehicle caught fire due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found one person hurt.
The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the incident. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 58 to shut down near Chester Avenue following the wreck.
The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
