Big Rig Driver Hurt After Crash on Highway 58 Wednesday
Bakersfield, CA (January 27, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic collision on Highway 58 Wednesday, according to FOX26 News.
Earlier reports indicated a big rig merged into the highway, in the area near Union Avenue, at a high rate of speed. The big rig apparently tried to avoid traffic and swerved to the right.
In the process, the big rig sideswiped another semi truck. The force from the impact caused the truck to move forward and hit the rear of a car hauler.
Major Injury Truck Accident in Bakersfield, January 27
Medical personnel arrived at the site shortly after 1 p.m. Paramedics checked the conditions of all parties involved, and later confirmed one person suffered major injuries. Official said the driver of the big rig that swerved required hospitalization after the incident.
The conditions of other motorists involved in the collision remained unknown.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the truck accident in Bakersfield.
