BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (May 20, 2018) – A woman was critically injured late Tuesday night after being struck by a car on Oak Street, between Chester Lane and Palm Street, according to Bakersfield Now.
The crash took place about 11:30 p.m. last night. Paramedics rushed to the scene to transport the injured woman to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The driver stopped and remained on scene where they were questioned by police about what happened.
Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this point, we do not know who had the right-of-way in the road, but typically vehicles are required to yield to pedestrians at all times. We do not know if the driver was distracted, speeding or obeying all traffic laws at the time of the collision. This is under investigation.
Our prayers go out to the woman who was hurt in hopes of a full recovery.
