1 Injured in Banning Crash on Eastbound Interstate 10 Near 22nd Avenue
BANNING, CA (August 31, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a car crash on the Interstate 10 near 22nd Avenue in Banning.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:14 p.m.
CHP said a white Toyota Prius and a big rig collided for an unknown reason in Banning. The two crashed on the eastbound side of the Interstate 10, just west of 22nd Avenue.
Car and Big Rig Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at the time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 10 near 22nd Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Banning crash is still under investigation.
