Woman, 75, Hospitalized After Collision at Santa Fe and East Avenue Monday
Turlock, CA (December 30, 2021) – Bao Huang, a 75-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Santa Fe and East Avenue.
The Modesto Bee News reported two vehicles collided at a rural intersection approximately two miles east of Turlock. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Lexus SUV failed to stop at a stop sign at the crossing of Santa Fe and East Avenue. When the SUV drove through the intersection, it broadsided the front end of a 2015 Toyota Prius the proceeded to the crossing at the same time.
Due to the force from the impact, the Lexus overturned and struck down a power pole.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 1 p.m. Responding paramedics found at least one passenger in the Lexus with severe injuries. Officials identified the injured party as Bao Huang. A helicopter reportedly transported the patient to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for further treatment and evaluation.
Authorities said a second passenger sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. However, the name and age of the second victim remained undisclosed.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several factors surrounding the major car crash at Santa Fe and East Avenue.
