BARSTOW, California (October 10, 2014) – Three people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway at Afton Road between the cities of Barstow and Baker, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported to CHP officers about 6:49 a.m. The driver of a silver 2004 Chrysler sedan went off the freeway onto the shoulder and overturned. The driver had a major injury to the left arm which police say was “severed to the bone.”
An elderly woman suffered a head injury in the crash and a third person was also injured. Paramedics responded and the victims were airlifted from the scene of the crash to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police will be heading up an investigation into the accident to determine how this happened and whether other drivers were involved.
“My prayers go out to all those involved for a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson, a personal injury lawyer who serves the Barstow community.
