BARSTOW, California (Thursday, September 17, 2015) – A tractor-trailer truck hauling food-was struck by another vehicle of unknown description on northbound Interstate 15 Freeway. The tractor-trailer’s front axle was destroyed and the rear axle became detached in the collision; debris scattered across the interstate. At least one party required an ambulance.
The truck had stalled in the roadway when the second vehicle struck it.
The accident occurred at about 12:46 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol incident report, but the wreckage was not fully cleared until 5:58 p.m. The northbound lanes of the freeway were partially closed until this was completed. The California Highway Patrol, Barstow, is investigating the incident.
