Boy, 8; and Girl, 6, Critically Injured in Barstow Crash on Yucca Avenue

BARSTOW (April 22, 2019) – Two children were critically injured after a traffic collision along Yucca Avenue Saturday evening, April 20.

The accident took place just after 7:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Yucca Avenue.

Police said the two juveniles were struck by a vehicle for an unknown reason on Yucca Avenue. The young victims, an 8-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl, were found lying across the road as a result of the crash.

Children Hit by Car at Apartment Complex in Barstow

According to The Daily Press, fire Protection District officials affirmed that the patients were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center and were listed in critical but stable condition.

The boy reportedly suffered broken legs while the girl sustained head trauma upon impact.

Meanwhile, it was not specified in the report whether or not the driver of the car involved stopped after hitting the children. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
