BARSTOW, Calif., (August 11, 2026) — A fatal accident involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian happened early Tuesday morning on the Interstate 15 Freeway, south of Barstow.

The incident was reported at approximately 12:14 a.m. on August 11th, just north of the Stoddard Valley OHV Area. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved a semi-truck and two pedestrians, identified only as a male and a female, who were reportedly on the side of the road when struck.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene immediately, with units arriving shortly after the report was logged. Tragically, one individual was confirmed deceased at the scene by 12:29 a.m., prompting a request for the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.

The details of how the accident occurred remain under investigation. The northbound lanes near Hodge were temporarily closed to facilitate the emergency response and investigation.
