Man Severely Injured in Barstow Hit-and-Run Crash on Muriel Drive
BARSTOW (January 9, 2019) – A pedestrian was severely injured after an alleged hit-and-run accident along Muriel Drive Sunday, according to The Daily Press.
The collision was reported on January 6 at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 800 block of South Muriel Drive. It is near Cameron Park and Cameron Elementary School.
As per the article, police said a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle for an unknown reason on Muriel Drive near Carson Street.
The man was left lying and unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from severe head trauma and multiple injuries to his lower limbs as a result of the crash.
Suspect Brittany Blake, 24, Arrested For Hit-and-Run
Police affirmed that the victim was immediately flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center due where he was listed in critical, but stable condition. His name was not released.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop after hitting the pedestrian and fled the scene. The car was later found at a mobile home park in the 600 block of Rimrock Road.
The suspect, 24-year-old Brittany Blake, was ultimately arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run with injuries. She remains in custody at the High Desert Detention Center with a bail set at $50,000.
