Petaluma Hill Road Fatal Pedestrian Accident
ROHNERT PARK, California (July 14, 2014) –A 21-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run car accident on Petaluma Hill Road just north of Hunter Lane, according to the Press Enterprise.
The Santa Rosa man was struck while he was walking on Petaluma Hill early Saturday about 4:15 a.m. The driver reportedly fled the scene of the collision in a 1998 Toyota Camry and abandoned the vehicle about two miles from the crash on Holly Avenue. A local resident reported the vehicle to police and they were able to contact the woman who owned the car.
Police interviewed the car owner and identified her boyfriend as the suspect. They are asking for the public’s help to find him. John Meskerare,33, is suspected of the hit-and-run crash.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect are asked to contact CHP officers at 551-4100.
“My condolences go out to the family of this young man as they cope with his sudden loss,” said Attorney James Johnson.
