2 Injured After Car Crash at Clairemont and Rappahannock Thursday
BAY PARK, Ca (April 9, 2020) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in the area of Clairemont Drive and Rappahannock Avenue, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The crash happened Thursday at approximately 4:10 p.m.
Our sources indicated a 59-year-old woman was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla heading north on Clairemont Drive. When the woman approached the intersection at Rappahannock Avenue, she drifted to her left and rear-ended a Jeep Wrangler.
Officials confirmed the Wrangler was at a stop in the left-hand turn pocket at the time of the collision. The force from the impact caused the Jeep to flip onto its side.

When emergency teams arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the Toyota trapped in the wreckage. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel freed the woman, then medics transported her to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old man driving the Jeep reportedly complained of pain.
The name of the injured parties, and their conditions at this time remained undisclosed.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
