BAYSIDE, Arcata County (May 9, 2016) – 35-year-old Jennifer Mallett sustained major injuries after a hit and run collision on Plunkett Road near Jacoby Creek Road, according to an article by Times-Standard.
The accident happened on May 6 at around 2:00 a.m.
As per the article, 45-year-old Timothy Bolton was pulling into a driveway on Plunkett when his passenger Mallett suddenly jumped out of the moving 2005 Land Rover.
The event led the Land Rover running over Mallett.
The collision left Mallett suffering in major injuries including a broken leg, fractured pelvis, and abrasions, as mentioned in the article.
The victim was confined in Mad River Hospital.
Initial investigation claimed that Bolton was intoxicated during the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
