BEAUMONT, Riverside County, California (May 30, 2014) –– Seven people including four children were injured late Thursday afternoon in a crash between a semi-tractor trailer truck and a car on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just east of Highland Springs, according to a press release by the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.
According to the report, firefighters responded to the scene of the 5:18 p.m. accident and had to extricate one of the injured people and then transported a total of seven who were hurt in the crash. Two of the people suffered major injuries and five were minor. Six of the people hurt were in one vehicle and the truck driver was also injured.
There were a total of 32 firefighters, 5 engine companies and two truck companies sent to the scene of the crash as well as crews to clean up the powdered concrete mix spilled out of the truck.
“Police will fully investigate this car accident to determine liability,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Anyone who is injured in this crash may hold the negligent party accountable for their losses including medical costs, pain and suffering and lost time off work.”
It’s important that people injured in a crash are aware of their legal rights and it’s just as important to not delay treatment or allow gaps in treatment to occur as it could hurt your potential personal injury case.
