Beaumont Crash Tuesday on Highway 79 and Lamb Canyon Road
At Least 1 Taken to Riverside County Regional Med Center
BEAUMONT (August 22, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a serious collision as reported Tuesday morning on Highway 79 at Lamb Canyon Road.
The incident was reported to have taken place at roughly 9:18 a.m. between a sedan and a dump truck.
Authorities dispatched to the scene described witnessing a vehicle initially smoking which then caught fire within minutes of them arriving at the crash site.
The California Fire Department was also called to the scene whose personnel assisted in extinguishing the flames exhausting from the vehicle.
Per the California Highway Patrol, at least one person suffered injuries as they were transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center.
No details were provided regarding the cause of the wreck as the No. 1 lane headed southbound remained shut down while wreckage was cleared from the road as police officials perused the scene.
