Gina Marie Herrera Killed in Collision Near Jack Rabbit Trail
Beaumont, CA (January 23, 2023) – A deadly traffic accident occurred on Interstate 60, also known as Moreno Valley Freeway, according to My News LA.
Earlier reports indicated Gina Marie Herrera, a 47-year-old woman, was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic. Officials said the woman was heading west on the freeway when for an unknown reason it collided with a Cadillac CTS traveling in the same direction in the fast lane of I-60. The force from the impact propelled the Honda Civic onto the eastbound side of the freeway, where it broadside an eastbound Kia Niro.
The traffic accident took place Monday, January 23.
Deadly Car Accident on Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont
Shortly after 10:20 p.m., rescue teams arrived in the area near Jack Rabbit Trail. First responders found the driver of the Honda Civic unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, the woman sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Authorities later identified the deceased as Gina Marie Herrera, of Westminster, Colorado.
The article published online mentioned the driver of the Kia, a 44-year-old Palm Springs woman, sustained injuries in the collision. An ambulance transported her to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. Detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly crash that happened on Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont.
