BEAUMONT, California (August 28, 2015) — A boy suffered minor injuries Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a driver after leaving San Gorgonio Middle School on Cherry Avenue near Rover Lane, a report in the Press Enterprise stated.
The young person was hit about 3:20 p.m., Cal Fire Riverside County reported. The child was reportedly crossing the roadway to be picked up by an adult when he was struck by an oncoming motorist. Paramedics transported the middle school student to a local hospital for further treatment.
“Drivers need to be on the lookout for students now that school is back in session,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Students are excited about returning to school and we as adults in vehicles need to be aware of potential jaywalking.”
