Becki Teague, 59, Seriously Injured in Temecula Head-On Crash on Highway 79
TEMECULA (January 3, 2020) – A driver seriously injured after a traffic collision along Highway 79 that killed his passenger Friday has been identified.
Aguanga resident Becki Teague, 59, was the driver of a 2004 Kia Rio that was headed westbound on Highway 79, west of Pauba Road.
The incident began when a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer going east accelerated to get around a slower vehicle. It crossed over double yellow lines and entered the westbound traffic lane.

In the process the driver of the Mitsubishi, 50-year-old San Diego resident Matteo Monica, then collided head-on with the Kia. The Lancer caught fire upon impact.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the front seat passenger of the Soul dead at the scene. Coroner’s office named the victim as 23-year-old Geordon Pollette, of Aguanga.
Medical personnel also rushed Teague to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with major injuries. Monica also suffered major injuries following the wreck.
Meanwhile, the tragic 12:20 a.m. incident remains under investigation.
