BELLFLOWER, Calif. (July 13, 2018) – A suspected drunken driver plowed into four people early Friday morning who were standing on a sidewalk in Bellflower, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident was reported about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Foster Road and Woodruff Avenue, police said.
The suspect driver reportedly revved up the engine of his vehicle to show off in front of the nightclub where the incident took place. The vehicle was burning rubber and skidding through the intersection at the time of the collision into the pedestrians and several parked cars.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured people to hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Police arrested the driver who was also injured. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then booked into jail.
