Benjermin Navarro and Jasmyn Linares Killed in Avenue 196 Head-On Crash; Baby Injured
TULARE COUNTY (April 30, 2018) – A man and a pregnant woman were killed while their baby was severely injured after an alleged DUI crash on Avenue 196 Sunday, April 29, according to ABC 30 and Visalia Times-Delta.
Family members identified the deceased victims as 21-year-old Benjermin Navarro and 22-year-old Jasmyn Linares. Both were Exeter residents. The 1-year-old child, Maddox, suffered severe injuries.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Avenue 196 when its driver was seen passing several vehicles.
The motorist in the Lincoln, 24-year-old Arnold Zuniga Jr., then crossed the double yellows lines and and drove into the path of the westbound 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by Navarro.

Navarro veered in an attempt to avoid collision, but the speeding Strathmore resident swerved at the same moment. The two cars ultimately collided head-on, and the Toyota rolled over multiple times upon impact
CHP affirmed that Navarro, Linares and Zuniga all died at the scene. The infant was immediately taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in an unknown condition.
The deadly wreck occurred at around 3:10 p.m. near Road 216. Meanwhile, authorities believed that Zuniga was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
