Riverside, CA (August 21, 2021)Benedicto Solanga, a 46-year-old man, died at a hospital following a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Market Street on July 29.

The KTLA5 News reported Benedicto Solanga was riding a bicycle on Market Street. In the area near the 60 Freeway, the cyclist got involved in a brief interaction with the driver of a black Ford F250.

Our sources indicated the two men eventually parted ways. However, the driver of the Ford apparently made a U-turn in the area. The motorist returned and allegedly intentionally rammed Benedicto Solanga.

Deadly Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash in Riverside, July 29

Shortly after 12:40 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. Responding paramedics rushed the injured bicyclist to a hospital for treatment of serious trauma. A few days later, Benedicto Solanga succumbed to his injuries and died.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators later located, and arrested the hit-and-run felon. Authorities booked the suspect into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
