BENICA, California (August 27, 2014) – Two men and a woman were killed Tuesday afternoon after a collision with another motorist on the Lake Herman Road off-ramp from the northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Solano County, just northeast of San Francisco, according to a CBS news report.
The victims were all elderly people who were in a Kia Spectra whose driver was hit by another motorist in a minor crash as both cars were attempting to exit the highway about 3:40 p.m. The Kia overturned multiple times following the crash and landed on its wheels in a grassy area next to the off-ramp.
The car’s airbags were deployed and all were wearing seatbelts. The names of the victims have not been released, but two are residents of Vacaville, California. A man and woman were in the front seat and the other man was in the back seat of the Kia.
“Police will investigate the cause of this fatal crash and assign liability,” said Attorney James Johnson.
