Motorcyclist Killed in San Jose Crash on 880 Freeway
SAN JOSE, Calif. (August 4, 2020) – Benjie Gomez, 47, of San Jose, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died Sunday night in a traffic collision on the Interstate 880 Freeway in San Jose.
Police were called to the crash scene about 6 p.m., just north of Highway 101, according to an article published by The Mercury News.
A big rig collided with the motorcycle rider for unknown reasons on the southbound side of the 880 Freeway.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist lying in the No. 3 lane and quickly transported the injured man to a hospital where he later died.
The semi-truck driver stopped following the collision and cooperated with the authorities.
