Fatal Sacramento Crash Florin and Excelsior Roads
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Dec. 29, 2020) — Bennie Hunter, 80, died in a Sacramento crash involving a wrong-way driver on Dec. 21 at Florin Road and Excelsior Road.
The Sacramento man died in the crash reported at 5:39 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 21st at the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision including a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a red Nissan Frontier and a white pickup truck. One of the drivers called 911 to report they collided with a wrong-way driver. The person’s vehicle was on fire after it went off the roadway into a ditch. Furthermore, a third vehicle collided with one of the first two vehicles stopped in the roadway. The coroner, which identified Bennie Hunter, did not state which vehicle he was in at the time of the collision.
Next, paramedics responded to the Sacramento crash scene to help those who were hurt. Sadly, Hunter’s injuries were fatal.
Meanwhile, all three vehicles were towed including one of them that was completely burned.
Finally, the cause of the crash and liability is under investigation by the CHP. Witnesses are urged to contact authorities.
