Benny Herrera, 25, Killed in Indio Crash Near Dillon and Fargo Canyon
INDIO, CA (August 22, 2021) – Benny Herrera was killed after a car crash near Dillon Road and Fargo Canyon Road in Indio.
The coroner’s office identified the 25-year-old Coachella man as one of the victims in the collision which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened on August 21 when Benny Herrera was riding in one of the two vehicles which collided for an unknown reason in Indio.
3 Seriously Injured in Car Collision
The California Highway Patrol said they crashed near the intersection of Dillon Road and Fargo Canyon Road. KESQ News and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred at about 8:55 p.m.
Benny Herrera died at the scene of the Indio crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found three people hurt as a result of the wreck.
Air ambulances took all three patients to hospitals for treatment of major injuries. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Dillon Road and Fargo Canyon Road to shut down for hours following the collision.
The cause of the Indio crash is still under investigation.
