Vehicle Strikes, Kills 2 Drivers on Interstate Highway 80 Sunday
Berkeley, CA (September 12, 2021) – Two people died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate Highway 80 early Sunday.
According to KRON4 News, a Chevrolet Malibu and a Dodge Durango collided in the eastbound side of the freeway near University Avenue. After the crash, the two drivers stepped out of their vehicles and started arguing in the middle of the roadway.
Preliminary investigation revealed an oncoming Mini Cooper swerved around the wreck. However, the motorist still hit the two men arguing on the highway.
Deadly Car, Pedestrian Accident in Berkeley [September 12]
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the drivers but they both sadly died at the scene. The names of the deceased parties remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Officials added a passenger in one of the stopped cars possibly sustained injuries from the debris. An ambulance transported the passenger to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Mini Cooper appeared unharmed after the incident.
Further investigation on the fatal car accident in Berkeley is ongoing.
