2 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Berkeley Car Crash on Marin Avenue
BERKELEY, CA (May 11, 2021) – A car crash on Marin Avenue killed two people and injured one person in Berkeley.
According to The Daily Californian and East Bay Times, the tragic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:39 p.m.
Police said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Berkeley. They crashed on Marin Avenue between Spruce Street and San Benito Road.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced a woman riding as a passenger in a 4-door sedan dead at the scene. The man driving the same car died at a local hospital.

Medical personnel soon rushed the female driver of the second vehicle for treatment of moderate injuries. They also took her passenger, a girl, for evaluation.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the impact knocked down and then damaged a power pole nearby.
Officials forced several lanes of Marin to shut down between Spruce and Oxford streets following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Berkeley crash is still under investigation.
