Major Injury Collision Near University Avenue Offramp
Berkeley, CA (May 26, 2023) – One person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 80, also known as Dwight Eisenhower Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a red Honda CRV collided with a person riding a Suzuki motorcycle in the westbound side of the freeway near the University Avenue offramp. Officials added at least one of the motor-vehicles ended up disabled in the high occupancy lane of the interstate.
CHP logged the case on May 26, Friday, around 5:25 p.m.
At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Berkeley Crash on Interstate 80
When emergency crews arrived at the location, responding paramedics checked the physical conditions of all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, medical personnel confirmed at least one person sustained major trauma in the collision. It was not immediately known if the motorcyclist was the party hurt in the crash. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Investigators stayed at the scene the whole evening. They continue to work to determine the precise cause of the traffic accident that happened on Interstate 80 in Berkeley.
