Berkeley Police Officer Hits Woman at Sacramento Street and Allston Way Monday
Berkeley, CA (July 19, 2021) – A pedestrian accident involving a Berkeley police officer occurred in the area of Sacramento Street and Allston Way, the East Bay Times reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed a local police officer was driving a patrol vehicle in the streets of Berkeley. The deputy stopped at a red light at the intersection. When the light turned green, the officer made a left turn from Allston onto Sacramento.
Pedestrian Hospitalized After Accident in Berkeley, July 19
Authorities said the patrol vehicle struck a woman while driving through the crossing. The collision resulted in minor injuries to the pedestrian. According to the article published online, paramedics transported the patient to a hospital for complained of pain. Additional details on the injured party have not been discussed thus far.
Meanwhile, investigators mentioned the deputy was traveling at approximately 10 mph when the crash happened.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the pedestrian accident in Berkeley.
