2 Injured in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash at Telegraph and Parker

BERKELEY, CA (October 16, 2022) – Two were hospitalized after a pedestrian crash at Telegraph Avenue and Parker Street in Berkeley.

According to an article published by The Daily Californian, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the collision on October 14 at about 5:30 p.m.

The incident happened when a vehicle was going west on Parker Street, approaching Telegraph Avenue, in the city. At the same time, two people were crossing the intersection.

Victims Hit by Car

Berkeley police said the car then struck the victims in a pedestrian crosswalk. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

One patient sustained leg injuries while the other obtained shoulder injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed them to the Kaiser Permanente hospital in Oakland for treatment.

The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police added that the driver failed to see the victims due to the sunlight and hit them.

Officers forced the area of Telegraph and Parker to shut down following the incident. The cause of the Berkeley pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
