The coroner’s office identified the victim as Bertha Bartholomew, of Sacramento.
As per the article, a statement released by the police said Bartholomew was driving her car north on Grove Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle headed east on El Camino Avenue.
Bartholomew was then immediately transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, the other motorist involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect was only described as a man.
The 10 p.m. collision remains under investigation.
We offer our prayers and most heartfelt condolences to the friends and family members of Ms. Bertha Bartholomew during such a difficult time. We hope the hit-and-run driver will be located and justice will soon be served.
