Woman Killed in Desert Hot Springs Accident
DESERT HOT SPRINGS (July 20, 2018) – Beth O’Hara, 58, was killed Friday night when she was struck by a suspected drunk driver at Palm Drive and Buena Vista Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision took place shortly before 8:15 p.m. as she was crossing Palm Avenue, just south of Buena Vista.
The Desert Hot Springs police said the driver was headed northbound when he struck the victim.
The woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Adrian Villalobos, 25, of Sky Valley, was arrested following the collision. He pleaded not guilty last week to one felony count of DUI causing death. It turns out that his blood-alcohol content was 0.10 or more, higher than the legal limit of .08.
Villalobos is being held in lieu of $90,000 bail and scheduled to be back in court Aug. 3 for a felony settlement conference.
