Betty Stofa, 93, Killed in Interstate 40 Crash in San Bernardino County
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2019) — Betty Stofa, 93, of Alta Loma, died in a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 4o, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash was reported at 3:32 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10th near mile marker 65. The driver of a 2015 Toyota Rav4 was unable to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the center divider where the vehicle collided into several large rocks.
Betty Stofa was a passenger in the vehicle. Paramedics responded, but shewas pronounced dead at the scene.
The Barstow office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
San Bernardino Accident Investigation
Police are reviewing the facts of this accident to determine fault. It’s unknown if any mechanical malfunctions were involved or a dangerous road condition.
