1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Route 76
Pala, CA (May 30, 2023) – Police arrested Bianca Anahy Hernandez, a 23-year-old woman, following a deadly car accident that occurred on State Route Highway 76.
The San Diego Union-Tribune News reported Hernandez was behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry heading east on SR-76. In the area near Magee Road, Hernandez veered into the westbound lane and cased a series of crashes.
The incident took place on May 29, Monday, around 9 p.m.
According to the article published online, the Camry collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe; a silver Lexus GS-350; and a black Jeep Laredo. Emergency crews later responded tot the accident scene and checked the conditions of all the occupants in the disabled cars. After the evaluation, paramedics sadly pronounced the Lexus driver dead. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Several Injured in Pala Car Accident
Authorities added the driver of the Hyundai, and Jeep; and a passenger in the SUV, all sustained minor to moderate injuries. Ambulances transported the victims to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
During the investigation process, police determined the driver of the Camry was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Given that, officers arrested Bianca Anahy Hernandez on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident that happened on State Route Highway 76 in Pala.
