Woman, 66, Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2023) — Bibiana Retana-Sosa, 66, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Venice Boulevard Tuesday in the Arlington Heights area of Los Angeles.

The suspect’s vehicle struck Bibiana Retana-Sosa at around 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Venice Boulevard and 12th Avenue, according to MyNewsLA.

She was pronounced dead by arriving Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, the report said.

Investigators determined that the woman was crossing Venice Boulevard in a marked crosswalk and walking northbound at the time of the collision. A driver in a white Mazda with the California license plate 8XHG132 hit her and failed to stop and help her. The motorist kept traveling eastbound on Venice Boulevard.

There is a standing $50,000 reward offered by the city of Los Angeles to tipsters to provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a hit-and-run suspect. .
