
Cyclist Badly Hurt in Collision at Fruitvale and Thienes
El Monte, CA (April 30, 2023) – A male juvenile suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Fruitvale and Thienes Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Auto vs. Bicycle Crash in El Monte
Earlier reports indicated the 15-year-old boy was riding a bicycle traveling in the streets of El Monte Saturday, April 29. When the cyclist entered the intersection at Fruitvale and Thienes, a passing vehicle struck him. The make and model of the car involved in the collision have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 5:54 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the injured juvenile, and all other parties found at the scene. The CHP log confirmed the bicyclist sustained major injuries in the crash, and had to be taken to the hospital for further treatment. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the bicycle accident that happened at Fruitvale and Thienes Avenue in El Monte.
