Bicycle Rider, 79, Injured in Car Crash in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2022) — A bicycle accident at San Marcos Boulevard and Via Vera Cruz happened Tuesday morning at the San Diego County intersection.
The collision occurred about 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 20th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
A driver struck a 79-year-old man riding a bicycle at the San Marcos intersection. The cyclist suffered major life-threatening injuries in the collision including a head injury and leg injury.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the accident.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene to help the injured man.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old man driving the vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash.
