Bicyclist Injured in Crash on Rio Linda Boulevard
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2024) — A person riding a bicycle was injured in a car accident Tuesday at Rio Linda Boulevard and Elkhorn Blvd., in Rio Linda.
The minor injury crash occurred near the Rite Aid pharmacy at 9:22 a.m. on Oct. 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
The dispatch operators were told a black Toyota Corolla sedan struck the bicyclist at the intersection due to unknown circumstances.
The rider went down in the roadway and suffered injuries. The Sacramento Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene to help the injured cyclist.
Meanwhile, police conducted a background check on one of the involved parties with the last name Piche Lewis and determined they had an active warrant for their arrest from a petty theft charge.
The traffic accident remains under investigation and it’s unknown if there were any arrests.
