Bicyclist Injured in Car Accident at Castro Valley Intersection
CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (May 30, 2024) — A major injury bicycle accident on Seven Hills Road happened Thursday morning at Quail Avenue in Castro Valley.
The bicyclist was reportedly struck by a gray Toyota Prius at around 10:23 a.m. on May 30th, near Castro Valley Community Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the rider went down in the intersection and sustained major injuries. Paramedics responded and transported the person to Eden Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on Seven Hills Road.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision. There are stop signs in all directions and crosswalks marked on the roadway. Unfortunately, there are no marked bicycle lanes on either one of these narrow roads.
The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
