Bicycle Rider Injured in Car Accident on Viola Lane, Lewiston Road

TRINITY COUNTY, Calif., (July 19, 2026) — A bicycle rider sustained major injuries in a car accident on Viola Lane Sunday afternoon near Lewiston Road.

The collision between the cyclist and a gray Ford Explorer unfolded at approximately 3:57 p.m. at 10 Viola Lane, located near a mini storage unit. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision involved a person riding a bicycle who was struck by the Ford Explorer. The person suffered scrapes on their legs and suspected a broken leg.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and arrived shortly thereafter. The injured cyclist was treated for major injuries at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care. The bicycle involved in the incident was given to a responsible party, while the vehicle was driven home from the scene.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and have asked any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the investigation.
