Bicycle Rider Struck, Killed in Collision Near Tehachapi
TEHACHAPI, Calif. (August 21, 2025) — A bicyclist was struck and killed in a car accident Thursday morning near the intersection of Highline Road and Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported around 8:22 a.m. and involved a vehicle and a bicycle, CHP logs show. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and Kern County Fire Department units were dispatched.
Authorities requested the Kern County Coroner’s Office just before 9 a.m. The identity of the bicyclist has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The roadway was shut down in both directions for several hours as investigators examined the scene and traffic was diverted to nearby streets, officials said.
The crash remains under investigation.
